The following are a list of resources you can use to assist you in the college search process. Please be aware we use the term "college" to mean institute of higher education in the US. There are some differences, usually related to size, but mostly it terms are interchangeable. HGIEC uses Family Connection as the main tool for research and application submission. TESTS:

SSAT -  The Secondary School Admission Test. Required by most boarding schools

TOEFL Jr is now the main English test for students applying to boarding schools in the US and elsewhere. Click on the link to register

SAT- The number one test students take for university entrance

ACT - The American College Test

TOEFL - The Test of English as a Foreign Language. It's not about passport, it is about language

TEST PREP:

SAT2400: Local as in Beijing, SAT Prep that goes way beyond memorization. Using diagnostic tests to assist students to perform at their peak.  Able to work with both English and Chinese speakers SAT2400 uses a "systematic" approach to score improvement.

YouthBridge China is a great program to connect American and Chinese students in China for Cultural exchange, media (film and stage) and travel through China.

Summer Discovery - has lots of interesting programs for Middle School and High School students. Take courses for credit (HS and College), learn about the college admission process, undertake an internship or travel and study in a foreign country.

Junior and Teen Camp Switzerland is a fantastic choice for English as a Second Language and outdoor experience camp

in the mountains of Switzerland.

Zinch offers a great source for researching schools

College Data -

College Prowler is written "by students for students." Search, compare and review US Colleges and Universities.
